• “My flag been folded for a long time, ‘bout fourteen years. Right now, I say, the way our country goin’, there’s a lot of shame on the flag. You gotta take care o’ home before you go messin’ with other countries, and the United States don’t do it. Every country they jump up and help, really there’s some kinda interest in it for them. They can make all the points they wanna ‘bout the Statue of Liberty, but this is the greediest, most corrupt country in the world. But everybody says; “I stand up for the United States”. What ya standin’ up for? The President is crooked, the Senators are crooked, the Governors are crooked, the Chief of Police is crooked, everybody’s crooked. If there ain’t no profit, the United States ain’t gonna interfere. I hear a lot of guys in bars and places say; “Don’t praise the United States”.”
“I don’t want no photos taken. Take a picture of the horse, but not me. I don’t need no more trouble. See, I’m what you call a disgrace in the military. The military discharged me. Dishonourable discharge. I did six and a half years before they court marshalled me for disobeying orders and putting a gun to my superior officer’s head. I done two years in military prison. Now I train horses. I can’t tell you my name, ‘cause they still watchin’ me. Call me ‘Sitting Bull’.”
“I was Special Ops. Coca fields, coca labs in South America, in the jungle. You gonna tell me to shoot back at a twelve year old kid? That kid is poor, from the day she was born. Them cartels give a kid a hundred American dollars, a stack of beans and a “plant ‘em over here. Don’t let nobody take ‘em, don’t let nobody mess with ‘em”. My commander ordered to return fire. That kid was shootin’ up in the trees - just a warning. She can’t speak no English. The only thing this kid’s seen was a bunch of men in camouflage, camouflaged faces with a bunch of weapons. She’s doin’ what she was paid to do - watch them leaves. Shoot the kid in the leg if you’re gonna shoot, but take a twelve year-old kid down? Na.”
